i went to the local dealer today for a valve adjustment and when i got my car back the damn thing wouldn't idle without stalling out. I told the service manager and he told me that he would look at the car again and see if there was anything that they did at fault. hours later when i returned to get my car he said that they did everything right and i should take it to "professionals" to see what the problem was. I am not sure if i am the first turbo-charged acura that they have seen here, but i think that the majority of my car is still the same with that of the stock and NA gsr's. the car wont idle it just dies. i told them that they should check the timing but they said that they didn't touch the timing. then i thought that one of my cam gears had slipped, but they are still at 0. If anyone has any idea of what might cause this, i have thought of spark plugs and or wires, or vaccuum leaks, please let me know. also if turbo gsr's need valves adjusted differently, why is this? thank you in advance for any help.

Well, sounds like they fucked your car up, but if they would have done it on purpose, they would have known exactly what to fix and would have tried to charge you more money...It does seem fishy, they probably screwed something up, who knows what those assholes did.....sounds like you might have a fuel problem or the timing is screwed up...

    Angry

Another reason to stay away from the dealer with a modified car.

Assuming the (clown) mechanic did the job correctly.IE did not confuse the intake valves with the exhaust valves. Then I would guess that he adjusted the valves to the minimum spec required, which affects the engine.

I'm not sure if you know the sequence, but with the adjustment there is a range, or clearance specified by the manufacturer. If the mechanic adjusted the valves to the minimum clearance, then it may affect the idle.

The million dollar question to the mechanic is did he do the adjustment to a hot engine or cold engine.

What I read was that the engine should be COLD and adjust the valves for the maximum clearance.

If there are no timing or wire issues, I would go back there and have them do it again to the max spec with a cold engine. (leave it overnight before the adjustment and don't start the engine)

Don't take any BS from the dealer. A turbo charger has no affect on the valve adjustment.

    plumvtec is right...

$100 says that they adjusted your valves using the wrong valve clearances or didn't know which cylinder was #1.. and #4....
if this is so, then you can hear loud tapping with the idle fluctuating...
    then die... am i right?
